He was unusual (and great!) in that he able to cover all sections (math, english, science). He put a plan in place and each week she’d do some homework and then they’d review it and he’d teach her various approaches. My daughter had some test anxiety and her work with John made her feel well prepared and less anxious. She did the ACT after about two months of weekly lessons and was ecstatic about her results, which put her in range for various of the UC universities. We fully expect her scores will go up as she continues with John and tests again. We highly recommend John and will continue to use him as my daughter continues her test prep.”

“We hired Jon primarily as an ACT tutor. Our daughter had 11 ACT lessons with him in less than 6 weeks (she also had a separate lesson with him for some math homework). With Jon’s help, she raised her raw ACT score 5 points, and her superscore 6 points. Jon is extremely good at what he does. He understands the tests, he is able to quickly assess the gaps, and he puts together a plan to find points in all sections of the test. Not only does he know common “tips and tricks,” he is also is a master of all subjects and is able to teach them in a way that is understandable. There is a continuous feedback and learning loop of assessment, teaching, practicing, assessment, teaching, practicing, and so on. The cost we paid for the lessons is minuscule compared to the return we will receive in merit scholarship money because of her scores.
