“Justin came recommended to us by a friend who helped her son, and considering that her son was taking college classes, we decided to give lessons with Justin for my sophomore a shot. My son had good grades but wanted to solidify his foundation in Physics because he was considering pursuing advanced physics and math in college. “I've always wanted to major in English, however, I had to take physics to graduate from high school. In my first months without Justin, physics was difficult. Things would just not make sense, and I was fine with that because physics was never my passion and I never intended to touch physics after high school. I believed that, some people were just fit for STEM and others were fit for humanities, and that people who are good in humanities would just not understand STEM and vice versa. However, after meeting Justin, my perspective on physics (and STEM as a whole) changed completely. In my time working with Justin, I've learned a different perspective on learning physics. In ways to approach a problem, Justin understands various tips and tricks that allow us to move through the problem in a brilliant yet concise manner. For various enquiries that build upon a problem, Justin seems to always know the answer. Whether that's asking an unrelated problem on the pen I write with works, or some obscure problem having to do with how particles work - Justin always seems to intuitively and masterfully create an explanation that I can understand. He has helped me understand our world and has fostered a different idea in me - the idea that people are completely capable of liking and understanding both the humanities and STEM. Justin so masterfully articulates his reasoning that has bloomed a love of physics within me, that continues to inform me about the world that surrounds us. And I will never forget what he has told me so many times - that physics is solely the mathematical way of expressing the world. That equations are like figurative language to make up the entire story. I still want to major in English, but my writing would be incomplete without the concepts that Justin has reinforced; that apples will usually not fall upwards, and that friction is not always negligible, and among all the other physics concepts that surround us (whether we like it or not).”
